"Nostalgic Persian House" (Memory from my Childhood) Original | Prints Available

This painting is filled with memories from my childhood: large family houses with courtyards, fountains in the center, and fruit trees, grapes, chestnuts, pomegranates. I remember placing watermelons, oranges and apples in the cool fountain water to serve guests after they arrive, a sign of Persian hospitality and love.

The bricks in old Persian homes were simple yet artistic, one type of brick arranged at different angles to create beautiful designs. Nostalgic Persian House is a tribute to respect, family, and the timeless beauty of Persian life.

In Persian culture, every door tells a story. Each one has two knockers, one for men and one for women, each producing a distinct sound so people inside would know who was visiting. When both were used together, it meant a family was arriving to celebrate, bringing warmth and joy to the home.

No wood, no metal, and no added materials, every element in this piece is handmade directly on canvas. I first built the structure by hand, layer by layer, before beginning to paint. I developed this technique in 2017, and ever since, I’ve been creating old Persian doors that carry the charm and soul of traditional homes.
