Eternity
Oil on canvas
Look closely at this tree, and you'll see two figures holding each other, their bodies forming the trunk and branches, rising together toward a sunrise. But the roots don't stay hidden underground. Some push up above the surface, twisting and visible, while others go deep beneath it. Both are part of the same system, holding the same shape.
That's the idea behind the painting. Not every part of a relationship is seen. Some of what holds two people together is out in the open, the everyday things you do for each other, the moments people can see. But the strongest part is usually the part no one sees at all, buried deep, built slowly over time.
Storms come. Life doesn't ask permission. But if the roots go deep enough, on the surface and beneath it, the relationship doesn't just survive it holds. And the longer it holds, the stronger that unity becomes.
The sunrise in the background isn't the end of anything. It's just another day starting, another chance for those roots to reach a little further.
You will grow greater than the world, if you humble yourself.
